The Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies hold talks with the large IT companies for the creation of the free economic zone for the development of the high technologies. Presently the Head of the Global Resources Company, Head Consultant of the Communications Ministry, Diana Landau conduct talks with Microsoft, Cisco, Hewlett Packard with regard to this issue, Trend reports quoting the Ministry. As a result of the negotiations, it will be defined whether these companies may make proposals within the project. The negotiations will conclude till December, the same source said.
By the end of the year, the Ministry plans to, begin the project of creating free economic zone in Azerbaijan for the ICT development. The project envisages creating technical parks for the development of the small and medium innovation entrepreneurship, establishing a regional base for the production and exportation of the electronic equipments and program products, turning the country into Data Centre, preparing and developing human resources for the information society, as well as applying the ICT in other sphere such as health and agriculture.
The agenda includes defining the exact budget of the project, holding talks with providers and potential partners and the international organizations.
In December, it is planned to sign an agreement with the providers and carry out works to accelerate the work included in the plan of measures of the project. After these works, a tender will be announced for the construction works.
