Azerbaijan has prepared and submitted proposals to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) within the project of purchasing a national communications satellite, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan.
At the end of last year, a representative of ITU who specializes, in satellite communications was in Baku and the necessary work in this respect was carried out. The proposals reflect the key requirements, parameters of the satellite and necessary indicators, the same source stated.
Once the organization has considered the proposals of the Ministry, they will also be sent to other satellite organization for familiarization.
The issue of defining the orbit position of the satellite will be discussed during the World conference of radio communications scheduled to take place in November 2007, the same source stated.
During the Ministerial meeting in November last year, the technical parameters of the satellite were discussed and it was considered practical to prepare a light-weight satellite.
