Strategic Policy Research Inc., a foreign consulting company is completing the preparation of recommendations for the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry within an agreement with the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), a source in the Ministry informed Trend today.
The package of documents includes recommendations on reforms and institutional changes in the Telecommunication Ministry and its enterprises, and in the field of regulation.
USTDA representatives are expected to visit Azerbaijan this month. Recommendations prepared are likely to be submitted to the Azerbaijan party within the forthcoming visit, said the source in the Ministry.
The grant agreement at the amount of $735.000 was signed between the Ministry and USTDA in January, 2005.
Earlier, during the meeting with Strategic Policy Research, Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan Telecommunication Minister highly appreciated initial proposals put forward by the consulting company. Strategic Policy highly evaluates reforms in Azerbaijan telecommunications.
