The Ministry of Communication & Information Technology of Azerbaijan informed Trend that an Azerbaijani delegation is on a visit to Sweden to attend a meeting on the establishment of the International Caspian IT University.
The delegation is headed by the Deputy Communications Minister, Iltimas Mammadov. In addition, the delegation includes members of the Organizational Committee for the Creation of a University, Communications Minister of Nakchivan Autonomous Republic, Rovshan Mammadov. The visit will conclude on 21 January.
During the visit, discussions will be held on future measures envisaged in the protocol-agreement which was signed in August 2006 between Organizational Committee for Creation of International Caspian IT University and the Information Technology University Chalmers of Technological University located in Heteburg. The document had been signed by the Rector of the Chalmer University, Prof. Jan Smite and Director General of the Communications & IT Center of the Azerbaijani Communications Ministry, Academician Fikret Aliyev.
The document includes supporting the preparation for the creation of the University. The platform aims to instruct specialists with bachelor and master degrees, to create training for technical maintenance and educational programs, the training of highly-qualified scientific and academic staff, as well as creating the structure of materials and a technical base in accordance with multimedia and modern technology.
