Azerbaijan leading mobile provider, Azercell Telecom JSC is pleased to bring to the attention of its subscribers that line outs services may emerge from time to time at nights and mornings in the Mobile operator rendering short messages starting from 01.00 a. m. February 15, 2007. Trend reports quoting a message being spread by the Company that it is linked with work on the improvement of the network of the Mobile Operator.
The number of subscribers of Azercell Telecom JSC is set up to increase. Today, this number exceeds 2.3 mln. At the beginning of the activity of the Company in 1997, the number of its subscribers was 10,000. The Company covers 78,4% of the territory and 98,8% of the population of Azerbaijan with its mobile communication network. The Azerbaijan Mobile Operator has roaming agreements with over 300 mobile providers from more than 130 countries.
The number of the Azercell base stations installed in the country exceeded 1,000.
Azercell JSC was established on January 19, 1996. Turkcell Д°letiЕџim Hizmetleri A.S and the Azerbaijan Telecommunications and Information Technologies Ministry were the first founders of the Mobile Provider. The Company has launched its activity on December 15, 1996 by offering mobile telecommunication services on the basis of post payment to its subscribers. In 1998, the operator introduced the system of prepayment вЂ" tariff plan SimSim.
