The Minister noted that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan had repeatedly discussed this project and both parties agreed their readiness for its implementation. "It is necessary to hold updated talks on this issue," he said.
The cost of the cable constructed via the sea bed is approximately $7 - $10 mln. The length of the TAE section between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan is 380 km. At the present time the route runs via Turkmenistan and Iran beyond the territory of Azerbaijan.
The construction of the TAE via Azerbaijan will reduce its route by 1,000 km and will increase data transmission and communication.
