Azerbaijan Wants Relations with Japan in ICT Sphere

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ Today, Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan's Telecommunication and IT Minister, appealed to Tadahiro Abe, Japan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan with a request to render assistance in establishing relations with the Telecommunication Ministry and the Domestic Office of the country he represents.

According to the Mr. Abbasov, Azerbaijan is greatly interested in cooperation with Japan, taking into consideration the country's great experince in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as the high level of Japan's economic development.

"We are satisfied with our co-operation with Azerbaijan and ready in all ways possible to support this development in different directions. Japan is a congenial partner for Azerbaijan," said the Japanese Ambassador.

To date, the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry has had over 20 agreements, protocols, and memorandums with CIS countries, Europe, Asia, and America. However, up to now, the Ministry has reached no agreement with Japan in the field of telecommunications and IT.
