Panasonic ToughBook CF-08 Tablet PC Takes a Licking

( Mobilemag ) - The ToughBook CF-08 easily holds up to its namesake, because Panasonic is claiming that it'll survive falls as high as about 1 meter, the average height of a computer desk (or about where you'd be cradling it in your arm at waist level). Powered by an Intel XScale PXA270 (312MHz) processor, this tablet PC comes loaded with all sorts of features and functions, including integrated 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2, USB connectivity, Ethernet port, and Microsoft Windows CE.

In an effort to keep it reasonably compact, the Panasonic ToughBook CF-08 comes equipped with a 10.4-inch XGA touchscreen display, as is the norm with most tablets we've seen on the market. What's particularly notable, however, is that depending on how bright you set that display at, you can get anywhere from 4.5 to 14 hours of battery life on this sucker. Fourteen freaking hours! That's really long, so you'd assume that the screen would have to stay really, really dim.
