Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee has announced that the number of mobile communications subscribers in the Azerbaijan is 3.6mln. The major part of subscribers is from Azercell Telecom, which holds approximately 2.5mln subscribers.
In the first quarter of 2007 income obtained from the mobile communications rose in Azerbaijan 26.2% compared to January to March 2006 and constituted the major part of all income in the communication sector.
The mobile services in Azerbaijan are provided at a GSM standard by Azercell Telecom, Bakcell and Azerfon with a trade brand of Nar Mobile.
