Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ Satellite communication has been installed in38 settlements of Guba, Khachmaz, Astara, and Gazakh Districts of Azerbaijan, a source in the Press-Confrence of the Telecommunication and IT Ministry of the Country has said today. There are no possibilities to lay usual telephone lines in these inhabited localities.
All the necessary equipment was procured by Delta Telecom Company. One hundred and fifty six families have been provided with telephones.
At the same time, by means of wireless CDMA network, the stable telephone communication has been installed in 12 inhabited localities of Shamakhy District of the Country. All the works were implemented by PO "Azetelekom".
According to the data collected for the first quarter of 2007, the number of telephones per each 100 people reached 10.5 (+0.2) in the regions covered by services offered by the Production Association. The number of telephones per each 100 families is 50.3 (+0.8).
