Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Huseynly, S.Babayeva / The Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, Ali Abbasov, said on 10 May that the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan will reconsider tariffs for local and international calls in the near future. According to him, the proposal presented by the Ministry envisages an increase in monthly subscribers and a decrease in the price of international and inner-city calls.
A limit would be applied to local calls in Baku. The suggested amount of minutes for local calls is 450 per month. The subscribers will pay for each minute of the conversation after this.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies estimated the cost of each telephone in Azerbaijan at AZN 3, whilst the monthly subscriber fee has been stated at less than AZN 0.70.
