Azerpocht to Reorganize Its Administration Office

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / Azerbaijan's State Enterprise Azerpocht prepares itself to reorganize its administration office to provide not only postal, but also financial services to population. The Head of the Postal Sector of the Ministry of Communications Azerbaijan. $12.25 mln will be provided by the World Bank and the remaining part by the Government of Azerbaijan. Structural changes do not envisage reducing the number of employees, but changing occupations, creating new departments and unifying the Azerpocht departments. A new strategy of the enterprise has already been prepared. Presently more than 4,200 employees and 12 departments function in the Enterprise. Azerpocht controls the activities of all postal enterprises in Azerbaijan. Mammadov said that yet it has not been defined what departments will be created. The necessity for structural changes was made apparent by the fact that the Enterprise will provide financial and banking services. In addition to structural changes, training will need to be held for personnel to increase their knowledge of new services. Azerpocht plans to commence providing financial services by the end of the year. Firstly the services will be applied in Baku and Sumgayt. The project envisages opening 1,000 new workplaces.
