Motorola Unveils 'Media Monster' Razr Update

( Mobilemag ) - Looking to boost sales of the Razr, Motorola has come out with an update of the once-popular phone while also announcing deals with movie studios to bring movies to mobiles. Sony, Universal, and Warner Brothers are all on board to deliver mobile movies to Motorola.

That update is the Razr2, which will be available this summer. Also announced were three HSDPA phones: the Z8, the Q9, and another version of the Razr. That Z8 is the so-called "media monster" that Motorola Chief Executive Ed Zander referred to last week. That phone is a kick slider that boasts 32GB expandable memory and a playback speed of 32 frames-a-second. It has mobile TV as well as one-click media sharing to online social networking sites like Flickr and YouTube. Motorola plans further releases in a few months. Whether this flurry of product releases is enough to cut into Nokia's dominating margin remains to be seen.
