Project of Plan of New Accounts Devised for Azerpocht to Provide Financial Services
Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / Through the technical assistance of the National Bank of Azerbaijan, a project of the plan of new accounts has been devised for Azerpocht State Enterprise of Azerbaijan for providing financial services within the joint project with the World Bank, said the Deputy Director General of the Enterprise, Nazim Suleymanov. According to him, the Ministry of Finances of Azerbaijan considered and approved the project. A regulating committee has been established to raise the efficiency of the measures envisaged by the project.
450 computers and printers have been supplied for automation of the Enterprise's infrastructure.
The cost of the three year project, the main component of which is modernization of the postal network of the country, made up $17,5mln, with $12,25 credit allocated by the World Bank, the remaining allotted by the Azerbaijani government. One thousand new jobs will be created under the framework of the program.
The Ministry of Communication is going to introduce financial and bank services this year in Baku, Sumgayt and Apsheron peninsula.
