Baku Telecom Network Prepared to Serve to Increasing Number of Communications Subscribers on CDMA: Head of Network

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Babayeva / Beytulla Huseynov, the General Director of Baktelekom production Association, stated that Baktelekom of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies is able to increase the number of subscribers of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access).

The number of subscribers from Baktelekom currently reaches 7,000. The technical operator can serve 13,000 subscribers. Following the increase in the number of users it is possible to strengthen the technical capacity for a high-quality service.

The subscribers are offered three types of tariffs. The first with the limitation of 300 minutes a month on local incoming and outgoing calls and the second type is an unlimited package of use. The monthly subscription fee on the first package is AZN 2, on the second AZN 10. Fee for the connection to the CDMA number on both packages is AZN 20.

Baktelecom has applied a third tariff on CDMA services since May. The subscription fee on the new package is AZN 5 with a period of 600 minutes for local incoming and outgoing calls. The fee for connection is AZN 10. After the completion of 600 minutes, the subscriber will have to pay per minute: 1 minute per AZN 0.01.

Baktelekom offers these services to subscribers in Baku and Absheron. This service has already been available within the state-run telecommunication agencies in the Absheron Peninsula, Shamakhy , Lankaran , Guba , Khachmaz , Zagatala , Shamkir , Ganja, Imishli , and other regions of the Country.

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is a multiple access system with code division. This is a wireless technology designed after GSM. CDMA which converts speech into digital information, which is then sent as a radio signal across a wireless network. Presented as a commercial product first in 1995, CDMA is one of the most rapidly developing wireless technologies in the World. In 1999, International Telecommunications Union chose CDMA as an industrial standard for the new 3G wireless system
