Azerbaijan’s Communications Ministry Commences Restructure of Azerpocht

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The State Enterprise Azerpocht of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Azerbaijan begin the restructure of its administration within the Financial Services Development project implemented in co-operation with the World Bank.

The Head of the Ministry's Postal Sector, Novruz Mammadov, said that all departments of the Enterprise have been cancelled and 20 new departments will be established in its place. Of them, 70% will be related to previous services and 30% on new financial-banking services. The new departments include the marketing department on postal and financial services, the liquidity department, the internal audit department, the treasury department and the department of information technology. According to Mammadov, the head of Azerpocht administration will comprise of a director-general and three deputies for postal services, financial and banking issues and exclusive financial issues.

According to the order of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Azerbaijan, Ali Abbasov, a special commission has been established to ensure transparency in the process of selecting new employees for the reformed enterprise. Special rules have been devised in the selection of employees which will be carried out in three stages, including studying autobiography (10 marks), work experience (70 marks) and interview (20 marks). "Each candidate should achieve more than 50 marks. Those who do not successfully pass the test will be employed in the departments' branches," Mammadov said. The test is planned to be held in August. Currently the personnel of Azerpocht comprise 113 people, but in new administration 105 people will be employed.
