ICGB launches public procurement for line pipe supplier

ICGB has launched procedure with subject “Line pipes manufacture and supply for the needs of Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria”, for selecting and awarding the manufacturer for supplying line pipes with nominal diameter DN800 / 32”, Trend learned from ICGB AD, which is engaged in the pipeline’s construction.

The line pipe will be used for the construction of the IGB natural gas interconnector.

“The scope of supply includes the production, inspection, testing, shipment, transportation to point of delivery and documentation requirements of these items in accordance to this specification. All other services related to the pipe installation and additional materials will be purchased via a parallel running tender for the EPC contractor, which will be announced in the beginning of 2018,” said a message from the company.

The estimated value of the public procurement is 60 million euros. VAT exclusive and the term for implementation of the public procurement is 12 months as of the receipt of an assignment order according to the conditions specified in the Public Procurement Contract.

„The launch of the public procurement is a clear sign to the market for the irreversibility of the IGB project as a key energy security project in the region, "said Konstantinos Karayannakos, Executive Director on Greek side.

The Contracting Entity ICGB AD will grant unlimited, complete, free and direct electronic access to the documentation for the public procurement from the date of publication of the announcement in the Official Journal of the European Union.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas. The project’s cost is estimated at around 240 million euros.
