A delegation of the Uzbek embassy in Brussels discussed establishing regular and charter flights from Uzbekistan to Belgium with marketing managers of Brussels Airport, Uzbek media reported on March 14.

According to the information, the Belgium side expressed interest in opening air communication with Uzbek cities, because one of the development priorities of the Brussels Airport is increase of tourist flow, including touristic exchange with the Eastern Europe and the Central Asia, where Uzbekistan holds a special place in transit network due to its geographic location.

The Belgian specialists believe that opening of such air communication will provide fast and comfortable transit of residents of Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and adjacent northern regions of France during business and tourist trips.

That will also allow to considerably increase transit potential of the sides and open new possibilities for Uzbekistan. New prospects also exist in freight traffic.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan Airways may establish its own lowcoster in 2018 within the framework of tourism development program.
