Turkey sees increase in incoming Israeli tourists

In February 2018, 15,960 Israeli tourists visited Turkey, which is by 75.29 percent more compared to February 2017, the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Turkey told Trend on April 2.

The share of Israeli citizens in the total number of foreigners, who visited Turkey in February 2018, was 1.3 percent.

In February 2018, 1,527,070 foreign tourists visited Turkey, according to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

In January-February 2018, 2,988,640 foreign tourists visited Turkey.

Earlier, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that Turkey expects to welcome more than 30 million foreign tourists in 2018.

Turkey’s revenues from tourism increased by 18.9 percent and totaled $26.283 billion in 2017 as compared to 2016, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) said earlier.

The message said that 77.4 percent of total volume of revenues accounted for the share of foreign tourists, and 22.6 percent – for the share of Turkish citizens living abroad.

In 2017, 32.4 million tourists visited Turkey, 27.84 percent higher than in 2016.
