Uzbekistan simplified conditions for travel companies to carry out their activity, the presidential decree, published on the National Legislative Database of Uzbekistan website on April 18 said.
According to the information, the period required to consider licenses of travel agencies was reduced from 15 to 10 days. Travel companies will now be able to obtain permits in local branches of the State Committee for Tourism Development. The licenses were earlier being issued only in the central office in the capital.
The document also provides for “the reduction in the number of documents required for registration due to the cancellation of the requirement for the applicant to provide a copy of documents confirming the existence of his own or rented premises for the implementation of tourist activity that meet the legal requirements established”.
The Government of Uzbekistan is paying special attention to the development of tourism sphere. In early April, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev established the Office for International Cooperation in the tourism development sphere.
