Russia’s S7 Airlines is considering the possibility of increasing the number of flights to Uzbekistan in case if the authorized state agencies of the two countries agree on further liberalization of air transportation, a source in the Russian airline company told Trend July 11.

The representative of S7 Airlines noted that the frequency of flights between Russia and Uzbekistan is tightly regulated by agreements between the aviation departments of the two countries.

“The frequency of flights of S7 Airlines corresponds to current agreements,” the source noted. “On April 30, 2018, the airline company began to operate flights from Moscow to Samarkand, and regular flights to Tashkent will begin on August 3.”

At the same time, in 2017, S7 Airlines transported about 85,000 passengers on flights to/from the cities of Uzbekistan, which is 15 percent more than in 2016, according to the source.

Uzbekistan Airways and S7 Airlines began to carry out flights from Tashkent and Namangan to the Russian cities of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok from April 14, and regular flights from Moscow to Tashkent will start August 3.

The flights will be carried out on Tuesdays and Fridays. Two additional flights on Thursdays and Sundays will be added from October. Departure from Moscow will be at 05:30 local time from Domodedovo airport, arrival in Tashkent – at 11:30.

The return flight from Tashkent will be at 13:00, arrival in Moscow – at 15:20.

The flights will be carried with Airbus A320 and A319 aircrafts.

The cost of one ticket will be roughly 9,000 Russian rubles or about 1.1 million soums in one direction (about $143).
