In 3Q2018, Azerbaijani citizens visited Georgia about 500,000 times, which is approximately 11 percent more than the indicator for the same period of last year, says a report of the National Statistical Service of Georgia.
The report says the Azerbaijani citizens occupy the second place in the list of foreigners who visit Georgia most frequently. The citizens of Russia are in the first place (almost 600,000 visits), the citizens of Armenia are in the third place (about 450,000 visits), the citizens of Turkey are in the fourth place (about 390,000 visits).
It is noteworthy that the citizens of Georgia, who live in other countries, are also in the top five with over 100,000 visits.
In total, in the third quarter of this year, foreigners visited Georgia 3.2 million times (an increase of 9.2 percent over the year), including 1.5 million times for tourism purposes (an increase of 12.3 percent).
Georgia is most actively visited by foreign citizens aged 31-50 (45 percent). They are followed by travelers aged 15-30 (29 percent), 51-70 (24 percent) and over 71 (2 percent).
Most foreign citizens visit Tbilisi (32 percent) and Ajaria (27 percent).
