In June 2019, 181,400 tourists from Iran visited Turkey, which is 11.99 percent more compared to June 2018, Trend reports on Aug. 2 referring to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The share of Iranian citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in June 2019 was 3.41 percent.
In January-June 2019, 882,100 tourists from Iran visited Turkey, which is 22.76 percent less compared to January-June 2018. The share of Iranian citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey was 4.88 percent.
The ministry noted that 5.318 million tourists visited Turkey in June 2019, which is 18.05 percent more compared to June 2018.
During the reporting period, over 1.3 million tourists visited Istanbul, and 2.2 million tourists visited Antalya.
According to the ministry, in January-June 2019, 18.076 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 13.20 percent more compared to January-June 2018.
