The US side appreciates the activities of the Georgian government in the tourism sector, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, held her first meeting at the United Airlines office in Chicago. The Georgian Embassy in the US participated in organizing the visit.

At the meeting, the Georgian side made a detailed presentation about the possibility of launching direct flights between Georgia and the US. It was noted that direct flights will be commercially viable for both parties, since Georgia is a logistics center for the region, and its functions will be further expanded through projects supported by the country's authorities.

At the meeting, the US side positively evaluated the activities of the Georgian government in terms of raising awareness of Georgia as an attractive tourist destination. It was noted that the effectiveness of such activities will be one of the decisive factors by which the US airline will make the final decision.

At the meeting, it was noted that citizens of neighboring countries who do not have flights to the US will also be able to use direct flights, as a result of which Georgia will become a transit country.

The next meeting of the Georgian delegation will be held in Delta AirLines, where Turnava will show a presentation on bilateral flights.
