BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries increased by 2.4 times from January through May 2022, compared to the same period last year and amounted to 530,200 people, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to committee, 46.8 percent of indicated number of Azerbaijani citizens visited Türkiye, 15.6 percent - Russia, 13.3 percent - Iran, 8.2 percent - Georgia, 16.1 percent - other countries in first five month 2022.
Number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited Iran increased five times over the year, Türkiye - 2.8 times, Georgia - 2.1 times, Russia - 1.5 times.
Committee noted that 55.4 percent of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries from January through May 2022 used air transport, 41.8 percent - rail and road, 2.8 percent - sea transport.
According to committee, 468,100 foreigners and stateless persons from 157 countries visited Azerbaijan from January through May 2022.
