As follows from Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s draft decree "On additional measures to increase effectiveness of ongoing reforms in the tourism sector", until January 1, 2023, it is planned to exempt companies from customs duties when importing aviation fuel and fuels and lubricants, as well as raw materials for preparation of aviation fuel and fuels and lubricants, Trend reports referring to the portal for discussing draft regulatory documents of Uzbekistan - “SOVAZ”.

The decree was developed by the State Committee for Tourism and posted for discussion on the portal until December 24.

Moreover, it is proposed, starting from July 1, 2020, to cancel registration for foreigners entering Uzbekistan.

The registration procedure for foreign citizens and stateless persons will be canceled for the duration of the visa (visa-free) regime, but not more than thirty calendar days.

The project also provides that from January 1, 2020, guides, guides and instructors will be able to receive temporary labor certificates of self-employed citizens.

For the convenience of tourists, zones with tourist infrastructure will be created near international airports. Moreover, on the basis of public-private partnership in all international airports of the country, duty free shops will be created before July 1, 2020.

Starting July 1, 2020, a unified system of tourist tax accounting will begin to operate in the country. Furthermore, points for receiving tourist tax payment and currency exchange should work at all checkpoints.

In particular, it is proposed to establish a procedure in accordance with which from January 1, 2020, the amount of VAT paid when tourist companies import new cars designed to transport 8 or more people, including the driver, is reimbursed from the state budget.

Until January 1, 2023, it is planned to exempt companies from customs duties when importing aviation fuel and fuels and lubricants, as well as raw materials for the preparation of aviation fuel and fuels and lubricants.
