Turkish TEMSA company temporarily suspends activity

Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 12

By Anastasia Savchenko - Trend:

The Turkish TEMSA car manufacturing company has temporarily suspended the activity, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media.

TEMSA, one of the leading bus manufacturers in Turkey, suspended production until December 23.

The main reason for the suspension of activity is the financial difficulties faced by the company.

TEMSA, founded in 1968, produces more than 10,000 buses, vans and light trucks per year.

Besides Turkey, the company operates in almost 70 countries with a great market share in such countries with strong economies as the US, UK, France, Germany and Italy.

Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Ford, Fiat, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are assembled in Turkey. Turkey also manufactures local brands of buses such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
