Turkish Airlines slightly increases passenger transportation

In November, with an increase in the number of passengers of the Turkish Airlines (THY), the passenger flow increased to 82.3 percent, Trend reports with reference to the website of the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

The number of THY passengers in November amounted to 5.7 million, which is 3.7 percent more than in the same month last year, according to the report.

The number of passengers on domestic flights decreased by 2.7 percent, while on international flights - increased by 8.5 percent.

From January through November 2019, passenger transportation by airlines in Turkey decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the same period of 2018, making up 195.3 million passengers.

For the reporting period, the domestic passenger flow amounted to 92.8 million people, which is 11.5 percent less, year-on-year.

From January through November 2019, 102.5 million people were transported by external flights, which is 11.4 percent more, year-on-year.

According to the ministry, three main airports of Turkey - Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya together transported 80.1 million passengers from January through November 2019.
