Chabahar-Zahedan Railway Project will likely be opened by mid-2021, Khatam Al-Anbia Construction Headquarters (Iranian engineering firm controlled by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) commander Saeed Mohammad said.

“Chabahar-Zahedan railway was part of an international Belt and Road Initiative and Chinese businessmen have agreed to fund the project," Mohammad said, adding that there's a new route that the Chinese will invest in.

“A new route from Pakistan's Gwadar port has been defined and Chinese investments are being made in this new line,” Mohammad added.

“To accelerate the implementation of the project, some 300 million euro have been allocated from the National Development Fund of Iran,” he added.

The Chabahar-Zahedan Railway has a length of 720 kilometers in 8 stations.
