Volume of loaded, unloaded cargo in Iranian ports down

From the beginning of current Iranian (March 20,2020) year up till now (April 2) the volume of loaded and unloaded cargo at Iranian ports has reached 2.43 million tons, Trend reports referring to Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

The volume of loaded and unloaded cargo at Iranian ports has decreased by 56.4 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year. During the same period of last Iranian year, 5.56 million tons were loaded and unloaded, according to the report.

The cargoes were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm, Ganaveh, Lengeh, Neka and Bushehr.

During the reporting period, 0.85 million tons of oil were loaded and unloaded. This is an increase of 45.1 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (1.54 million tons).

The volume of twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container shipments amounted to 0.01 million tons during the reporting period. This is a decrease by 91.3 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (over 0.08 million tons).

The volume of other container shipments was 0.07 million tons, which is 92.6 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (1.01 million tons).

The general cargo volume was 0.18 million tons. This is a decrease by 73.2 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (0.67 million tons).

Dry bulk cargo volume was 1.28 million tons. This is a decrease of 39 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (over 2.1 million tons).

Liquid bulk cargo was 0.04 million tons. This is 82 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (0.23 million tons).
