As many as 294,250 flights were carried out in Turkey from January through April 2020, which is 31.9 percent less compared to the same period in 2019, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on May 15.
During the reporting period, 181,917 of the flights were domestic, while the remaining 112,333 were international.
"The number of domestic flights decreased by 29.4 percent from January through April of this year, while the number of international ones dropped by 35.6 percent," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, a total of 89,278 flights were carried out at three main airports of Turkey - Sabiha Gokcen, Esenboga and Antalya in the reporting period of 2020.
