Kazakh parliament makes amendments to international cargo tracking

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Mazhilis (lower house) of Kazakhstan’s Parliament has approved the legislative amendments on tracking international road transport, Trend reports with reference to the Mazhilis.

The bill was developed taking into account the need to improve state control over international road transport, as well as the development of a set of measures to create a system for tracking transit traffic using navigation seals.

The bill introduces the concepts of ‘information system for tracking international traffic’, and ‘electronic identifiers (navigation seals)’.

Kazakhstan’s government was offered to be given the right to determine the national operator of tracking systems for international transport. The requirements for carriers of international road transport regarding the use of navigation seals will be established. Administrative liability for seals intentional damage or destruction will also be introduced.

The bill also proposes that the procedure for the use of navigation seals will be approved by the authorized body responsible for the management of tax revenues and other mandatory payments to the budget.
