Number of passengers shrinks in Georgia

The number of passengers transported in Georgia has significantly decreased from January through April 2020, Trend reports referring Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

As reported, from January through April of this year, 80.6 million passengers used all means of transportation, while in the same period in 2019, 119.6 million passengers were transported in Georgia.

In the first four months of this year, 79.4 million passengers were transported by road transport, which is 38 million less than in the same period in 2019.

In the reporting period, civil aviation served 0.7 million passengers compared to 1.4 million passengers over the same period in 2019.

According to the ministry, 0.5 million passengers were transported by rail from January through April 2020, compared to 0.8 million during the same period in 2019.
