Kazakhstan's revenue from road passenger transportation plunges

Kazakhstan’s revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 80.3 billion tenge ($194.1 million) over 1H2020, which is 6.1 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport in Jun. 2020 amounted to 14.2 billion tenge ($34.3 million), which is 2.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.4 billion tons, which is 10.1 percent less compared to the same period of last year (290.7 million tons in Jun. 2020, down by 8.8 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 69.4 billion ton-kilometers which is 13.7 percent less than during the same period of last year (13.3 billion in Jun. 2020, decrease of 16.7 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 34.06 billion tenge ($82.2 million) over 1H2020, which is 36.2 percent less than during the same period of last year. June’s revenue from passenger transportation was 5.1 billion tenge ($12.4 million), which is 39.4 percent less than in Jun. 2019.

Number of transported passengers amounted to 6.4 billion people, which is 43.4 percent less than during the same period of last year (534.6 million passengers in Jun. 2020, down by 74 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 69.05 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease by 44.8 percent. June’s passenger turnover was 5.1 billion (77.2 percent decrease year-on-year).
