Some 3,031 tons of cargo were transported through Turkey's airport in Hatay province from January through June 2020, which is by 49 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on July 24 referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

From January through June 2020, 2,277 tons of cargo were transported through the airport via domestic flights, which is by 45 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

In turn, 754 tons were transported through the airport via international flights from January through June 2020, which is by 59 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the data, the airport served 394,936 passengers from January through June 2020, which is 51 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.

From January through June 2020, 248,047 passengers were served via domestic flights, which is 49 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

As many as 46,889 passengers were served via external flights at the airport from January through June 2020, which is 58 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

In 1H2020, 2,582 flights were made through the airport, which is 42 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

Out of them, 2,276 domestic flights were made from January through June 2020, which is 38 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The number of international flights through the airport decreased by 58 percent compared to the period from January through June 2019 and reached up to 406.

During the first six months 2020, the number of flights decreased by 51 percent in Turkey and reached 350,881 flights.

Some 36.4 million passengers were served at all Turkish airports from January through June 2020.

During the reporting period, 1.03 million tons of cargo were transported through all airports of the country.
