Half-year shipment of goods from Algeria through Turkish ports disclosed

The transshipment of goods from Algeria through the ports of Turkey made up over 3.4 million tons from January through June 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

In the first half of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment from Algeria by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 181,785 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 2.1 million tons.

According to the ministry, during the specified period, ships flying the flag of Algeria transported more than 1.1 million tons of cargo. Meanwhile, the volume of transited goods from Algeria through the Turkish ports amounted to 47,925 tons.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

During the reporting month, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
