Kazakhstan's revenues from air transportation down year-on-year

Kazakhstan’s revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 4.5 billion tenge ($10.9 million) over first seven months of 2020, which is 1.6 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via air transport in Jul. 2020 amounted to 464.7 million tenge ($1.1 million), which is 37.2 percent less than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 10,920 tons, which is 23.6 percent less compared to the same period of last year (1,430 tons in Jul. 2020, down by 33.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 30.5 million ton-kilometers which is 36.7 percent less than during the same period of last year (3.7 million in Jul. 2020, decrease of 24.3 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 102.3 billion tenge ($244.3 million) over first seven months of 2020, which is 48.2 percent less than during the same period of last year. July’s revenue from passenger transportation was 7.2 billion tenge ($17.2 million), which is 48.2 percent less than in Jul. 2019.

Number of transported passengers amounted to 2.6 million people, which is 43.1 percent less than during the same period of last year (304,900 passengers in Jul. 2020, down by 69.6 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 4.2 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease by 54.3 percent. June’s passenger turnover was 467.8 million (76.2 percent decrease year-on-year).
