Kazakhstan's revenues from transporting cargo via internal waters increase

Kazakhstan’s revenues from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via internal water transport amounted to 212.9 million tenge ($509,183) over seven months of 2020, which is 8.3 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue in July 2020 amounted to 55 million tenge ($131,541) which is 25.3 percent less compared to the same period last year.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 485,760 tons, which is 29.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

The July’s cargo transportation volume amounted to 105,320 tons, which also is 59.6 percent less year-on-year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 25.05 million ton-kilometers which is 4.03 times more than during the same period of last year. Cargo turnover in July amounted to 7.7 million ton-kilometers which is 2.4 times more than during July last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 10.8 million tenge ($25,829) over seven months of 2020, which is 23.5 percent less than during the same period of last year. July’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 10.2 million tenge ($24,394), which is 5.7 percent less compared to the same month last year.

Number of transported passengers amounted to 20,090 people, which is 16.3 percent less than during the same period of last year. The number of passengers transported in July amounted to 12,060 people, which is 26.8 percent less than in the same month last year.
