Kazakhstan's revenues from transporting passengers via internal waters soars

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via internal water transport amounted to 341.4 million tenge ($798,990) over nine months of 2020, which is 8.5 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue in Sept. 2020 amounted to 66.7 million tenge ($156,100) which are 33.1 percent less compared to the same period last year.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 748,430 tons, which is 32 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

The September’s cargo transportation volume amounted to 140,030 tons, which also is 29.7 percent less year-on-year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 50.1 million ton-kilometers which is 3.9 times more than during the same period of last year. Cargo turnover in September amounted to 15.02 million ton-kilometers which is 3.5 times more than during September last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 25.3 million tenge ($59,103) over nine months of 2020, which is 5.2 percent less than during the same period of last year.

September’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 11.4 million tenge ($26,679), which is 9.8 times more compared to the same month last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 37,070 people, which is 12.4 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The number of passengers transported in September amounted to 10,790 people, which is 2.2 times more than in the same month last year.
