The revenues from passenger transportation via the Azerbaijani section of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) in 2020 made up over 38.4 million tons, down by 37 percent compared to 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, in the reporting year, the cargo turnover in the country amounted to 9.25 billion ton-kilometers, which is 20.5 percent less than a year before.
Meanwhile, 20.6 million tons or 53.7 percent of all cargo were transported by road; about 12.82 million tons, or 33.3 percent of all cargo, by rail, and over 5 million tons, or 13 percent, by sea.
The report added that about 8.4 million tons or 21.8 percent of all cargo fell on transit.
