Several ships docked at Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port for export

Three 40,000-ton ships docked at the Shahid Bahonar port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) at the same time in order to export goods, Director of Sahid Bahonar Ports and Maritime Department, Hamidreza Mohammad Hosseini said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

Hosseini noted that this is considered a first in the 12-year operation history of the port. The large ships covered an area of 200 meters and were loaded in less than 8 days for the export of construction materials, food products, and mining materials.

The director added that the ships carrying fruits and vegetables, containers, as well as oil tankers also dock at the port.

As reported, a total of 98,200 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 21, 2020, through January 19, 2021). Of this, 89,100 tons were loaded and 9,000 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, about 81,600 tons of cargo were exported and 1,830 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting period.
