The largest number of cars exported to Uzbekistan from January through February 2021 fell on Russia, amounting to $9.1 million, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of passenger cars imported to Uzbekistan during the reported period amounted to $17.5 million.
Also, the countries with the largest imports of passenger cars from Uzbekistan in 2M2021 include China and Kazakhstan, $1.8 and $1.7 million respectively.
At the same time, Japan’s car exports to Uzbekistan during the reported period amounted to $1.2 million, Germany exported cars worth $1.1 million and the US - $1 million.
It is reported that the fewest number of cars import to Uzbekistan fell on Lithuania and South Korea - $935,700 and $203,200, respectively.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan sharply dropped car imports in January 2021 by almost 80 percent. According to the committee, foreign cars worth $5.8 million were delivered to Uzbekistan in the first month of 2021, which is almost 80 percent less compared to January 2020.
It is reported that in the summer of 2020 the authorities of Uzbekistan decided to improve competition in the domestic market and canceled the excise tax on car imports, but over the past six months, this has never led to a sharp increase in imports compared to previous years.
