Volume of loaded and unloaded cargo  in Iran’s Charak port climbs

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Charak port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 31 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 599,000 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the port over last Iranian year. Of this, 589,000 tons were loaded and 9,420 tons were unloaded.

“Furthermore, about 121,000 tons of goods were exported through the Charak port during last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

At the same time, 469,000 tons of goods were loaded and 9,420 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 262 tons of metal products, 363,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 235,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the Charak port last Iranian year.

Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
