The Baku International Sea Trade Port (Baku port) increased the transshipment of goods by 16.7 percent - up to 1.4 million tons from January through March 2021, Trend reports citing the port.
During the specified period, the transshipment of dry cargo by the Baku port amounted to 290,800 tons, which is 51.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
"The Baku port also slightly increased the transshipment of TIR (trucks) - to more than 9,000. Of these, 72 percent (over 6,000) were transported along the Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku route, and 28 percent (over 2,500) - along the Baku-Kuryk-Baku route," the message said.
In the first quarter of this year, the port handled 9,261 TEU containers (one twenty-foot sea container), which is 30 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
