Turkmenistan and Tajikistan expressed readiness to cooperate in the field of international road and rail cargo transportation, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan: Golden Age electronic newspaper.
The topic was discussed during an online meeting of representatives of the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) and Turkmen Railways with the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
Also, the possibilities of transit of Tajik goods through the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port were discussed.
Earlier, during a telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, it was noted that Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have the potential for cooperation in such areas as transport, oil and gas industry, electric power industry, and agriculture.
The search for new, promising areas of trade and economic partnership is of particular importance.
Turkmenistan and Tajikistan also successfully cooperate, providing mutual support, within the framework of authoritative international organizations, in particular, the UN, the OSCE, the CIS, and the OIC.
