Activities in Iran’s Bushehr Province increase

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 128 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 398,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the first month. Of this, 305,000 tons were loaded and 93,300 tons were unloaded. While in the same month last Iranian year, 187,000 tons of cargo had been loaded and unloaded in the port.

During the 1st month, 276,000 tons of cargo were exported and 36,700 tons were imported through the Bushehr port, the statistics said.

“In addition, 24 tons of cargo were loaded and 141 tons were unloaded in the port for transit over the mentioned month. At the same time, 28,400 tons of cargo were loaded and 56,400 tons were unloaded in this port for cabotage,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 420 tons of cargo were loaded and 20 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.

So, 7,830 tons of essential products, 339 tons of metal products, 240,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,100 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

“Moreover, 994 tons of chemicals, 406 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 120 tons of small and assorted products, 30,000 tons of container products, 117,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the reporting period,” the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
