Cargo movements in Iran’s Amirabad port shrink

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 35 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 255,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port over the first month. Of this, 73,400 tons were loaded and about 182,000 tons were unloaded. While in the same month last Iranian year, about 394,000 tons of cargo had been loaded and unloaded in this port.

“In addition, about 72,000 tons of cargo were exported and 174,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 1st month,” the statistics said.

Within the mentioned month, 1,480 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,940 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, also, 4 tons of cargo were loaded and 368 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes in the first month.

“So, 165,000 tons of essential products, 7,050 tons of metal products, 68,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 232 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port over the 1st month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 262 tons of chemicals, 1,790 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 731 tons of container products, 11,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port during the reporting month, the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
