Uzbekistan ready to partake in dev't of electric vehicles within CIS space

Uzbekistan plans to cooperate within the framework of the development of the production of electric vehicles in the CIS space, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan.

Under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, the seventh meeting of the Industrial Policy Council of the CIS member states was held via videoconference, during which a draft Program of conceptual directions for the development of industrial cooperation between the CIS member states was presented for discussion.

It was noted that the project was prepared as part of the initiative to adopt a program of industrial cooperation in the CIS, put forward by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit of the CIS heads of state on December 18, 2020.

At the meeting, 12 issues on the agenda were considered and discussed, covering five draft documents and information and analytical materials, on which appropriate decisions were made, including:

- drafts of the Concept of digital transformation of the chemical and fuel and energy sectors of the CIS member states and plans of priority measures for their implementation;

- the draft of the Package of Measures for the Development of Chemical Engineering in the CIS Member States;

- the draft Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Development of Civil Shipbuilding and the Production of Ship Component Equipment;

- issue on the development of a draft document on the development of industrial cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030 and others.

Also, within the framework of the Council, the Ministry of Economic Development presented and discussed a draft program of conceptual directions for the development of industrial cooperation between the member states.

In addition, the Uzbek side announced its readiness for cooperation in the development of electric vehicle production in the CIS.

Following the meeting, the participants in the meeting signed 12 decisions, an agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the Council in person in 2022 in Uzbekistan, as well as to continue interaction in the field of industry, including within the framework of the said Council.
