Russian Volga Shipping Company completed the transportation of oversized equipment within an oil complex construction project to Azerbaijan, a source in the company said, Trend reports.

According to the source, the delivery of goods was carried out by two specialized sea vessels of the company engaged in the project transportation.

“The project for the transportation of general cargo from the ports of Sweden and Norway to the port of Baku started in early April and was successfully completed in early June this year,” the source noted. “Volga Shipping Company’s two-motor ships of the ‘river-sea’ class of RSD49 project – ‘Neva-Leader 1’ and ‘Neva-Leader 7’ delivered oversized equipment, including helipad, containers and awning boxes to the customer. The total volume of transported general cargo was about 1400 tons.”

Besides, according to the source, the transportation of goods was preceded by a lot of work on the formation of the delivery algorithm. Engineering calculations were made, several placement projects were developed, as well as crane loading and unloading of oversized and heavy equipment.

An effective solution for the placement of non-standard general cargo on two motor ships of the Volga Shipping Company was realized by calculating the passage draft of vessels on the most difficult sections of the inland waterways of Russia and using a unique technology used on the company's specialized sea vessels.

Project transportation of oversized cargo is one of the company’s priorities.
