The number of flights in Iran increased by 100 percent during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Head of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) Siavash Amir Mokri said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
The head stressed that a total of 48,700 flights were carried out in Iran during the reporting period.
Amir Mokri added that about 3.64 million passengers were transported by air in Iran in two months. This is an increase of 75 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), 23,500 flights were carried out in Iran. The flights increased by 63 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year,” he said.
The official noted that 1.7 million passengers were transported by air in Iran in the second month. This is an increase of 30 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
According to Amir Mokri, the flights and passenger transportation in the second month, decreased by 7 percent and 11 percent, respectively, compared to the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021).
